This tendency is demanding much higher energy density of lithium ion battery. Higher energy density strategy is classified into 2 methods. They are increasing capacity and increasing voltage. Voltage increase is reviewed by so many researchers. To do this, it uses high voltage cathode materials without changing the existing low voltage anode. There is a barrier to apply for high voltage cathode materials, it is electrolyte oxidation. And also, it is still remained reductive stability of electrolyte, which has been a problem.
