90-92Abundance and distribution of Dendronereis arborifera, the gill bearing nereid were studied in the lower Vasishta Godavari Estuary (lat. 16ᵒ 18'N; long. 81ᵒ 42'E) on the East Coast of India. Collections from 3 tidal levels, viz mean high water mark, mean mid water mark and mean low water mark were made from 6 permanent stations during Oct. 1976-Jan. 1978. Its distribution along the course of the estuary, in relation to tidal level, temperature, interstitial salinity, dissolved oxygen, substratum composition and organic matter content in the sediment was discussed
