Garden cress seeds (L. sativum L.) are known to contain several chemopreventive and chemotherapeutic constituents. The effect of L. sativum plant extract on cancers is generally attributed to the constituent isothiocyanates, specifically benzyl isothiocyanate, which are also present in the seeds.
