Gambaran Kesehatan Gigi dan Mulut Usia Lanjut di 3 Puskesmas, Jakarta Selatan, Tahun 1999

It was predicted that life expectancy rate is increasing in the future. There will be more people aged over 55 years old, and in consequences of the aging process various health problem may arise. This study was conducted among 150 respondents aged over 55 – 65 years, from 3 Puskesmas in South of Jakarta from 1997 to 1998. It was found that after intervention program there were changes in the gingival health status (40%) which is statistically significant (p<0,05), where as the normal teeth function > 20 teeth (50%). There were no differences found about the dental and oral health knowledge of the elderly people among the 3 Puskesmas
