Psychological problem of the main character in the Beaver film; psychoanalysis approach

The purpose of this research is to know the psychological problem from the concept of Structure Personality id, ego, and superego of the main character in the film. The writer uses qualitative descriptive analysis method to analyze it. The data are collected from the dialogues in the script and some pictures in the film, the writer analyzed this film using psychoanalysis theory. From the analysis of this film, the writer finds that the main character suffers depression which is a part of psychological problems; it caused when he fears to rebuild his company after bankrupt and he is more depressed after his wife asks him to leave the house. His psyche disorder because his three parts of structure personality; id, ego, and superego, does not work properly. That is the reason that the main character suffers mental disorder. In this film the main character tries to overcome the ego a part of his structure personality. Therefore, his ego makes some defense mechanism such as; Projections, Rationalization, Suppression, Compensation, and Intellectualization.
