APLIKASI LATIHAN RELAKSASI OTOT PROGRESIF DENGAN TERAPI MUSIK JAWA TERHADAP PENURUNAN TEKANAN DARAH PADA KLIEN HIPERTENSI DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS PADANGSARI

Background : Hypertension or high blood pressure is a non-communicable disease which is a major problem in developed and developing countries. Hypertension is called the silent killer and the most common cause of cardiovascular disease. Therefore, an intervention is needed to reduce blood pressure, namely progressive muscle relaxation exercises with Javanese music therapy.Objectives : To find out the effectiveness of progressive muscle relaxation exercises with Javanese music therapy on reducing blood pressure in clients with hypertension in the working area of Padangsari Health Center.Methods : This research uses Quasy Experiment with a pre-post test with control group design. The research sample was 68 people in the working area of Padangsari Health Center in February - March 2019. Sampling technique with non probability sampling with purposive sampling method and data processing analysis with Mann Whitney test.Results : The results showed that there were differences in the mean systolic and diastolic blood pressure in the two groups, which meant there was an effect of intervention on the decrease in blood pressure with a significance value (p? 0,05). The mean reduction in systolic blood pressure in the treatment group was 12.21 mmHg and in the control group was 9,41 mmHg with a significance value of p= 0,019. While the decrease in diastolic blood pressure in the treatment group was 9,12 mmHg and in the control group was 5,59 mmHg. with a significance value of p =0.004.Conclusion : In this study showed that the combination of progressive muscle relaxation exercises with Javanese music therapy was more effective in lowering blood pressure in hypertensive clients in the working area of Padangsari Health Center
