PROSEDUR PEMERIKSAAN MSCT ABDOMEN PADA KASUS ABSES HEPAR DI INSTALASI RADIOLOGI RUMAH SAKIT UMUM DAERAH IR. SOEKARNO KABUPATEN SUKOHARJO

Background : Liver abscess is a form of infection in the liver caused by bacterial, parasitic, fungal or sterile necrose infections originating from the gastrointestinal system. MSCT Contrast abdominal scan plays an important role in diagnosing cases of liver abscess. The purpose of this study was to determine abdominal MSCT examination techniques in cases of hepatic abscess in Radiology Installation of the Regional General Hospital Ir. Soekarno, Sukoharjo Regency, and the reasons for using the triphase technique on abdominal MSCT examination in cases of liver abscess.Methods : The method of this research is descriptive qualitative research with a case study approach. Data collection methods used are observation, interviews with radiographers and radiology specialists, as well as sending doctors, radiograph documentation and radiograph reading results and copying data and archives related to the case studies studied. The data obtained is collected then data reduction is carried out, after which it is processed with the next open coding system presented in the form of quotations so conclusions and suggestions can be taken.Results : The results showed that the technique of abdominal MSCT examination in cases of liver abscess at the Regional General Hospital Ir. Soekarno, Sukoharjo Regency was given intravenous contrast media with triphase technique, with special preparation for a low-fiber, urinary, and fasting diet. The scanning area in the arterial phase, venous phase and all delay phases from the diapragm to pubic shymphysis simultaneously with the placement of a triger on the abdominal aorta as high as the xypoid process. The reason for using the triphase technique is the examination of Abdomen MSCT in cases of liver abscess at the Regional General Hospital Ir. Soekarno Regency Sukoharjo is to get rid of or differentiate diagnoses from other cases of liver, such as liver cysts, metastasis or HCC which are accompanied by central necrosis. It is recommended that abdominal MSCT examination with hepatic abscess be carried out in the arterial abdominal phase MSCT and vein phase (biphase) with the scanning area starting from the diapragm to the symphysis pubis in order to reduce the radiation dose received by the patient and extend the life of the tube. We recommend Radiology Installation of the Regional General Hospital Ir. Soekarno, Sukoharjo Regency made a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) related to the technique of examining the Abdomen MSCT in cases of liver abscess in more detail according to the implementation carried out. Conclusion : The technique of abdominal MSCT examination in cases of liver abscess at the Regional General Hospital Ir.
