Les énergies, les tensions et les structures cristallographiques des surfaces (111) et (110) de CaF2, SrF2, BaF2 et UO2, ThO2, PrO2, PuO2, CeO2 sont calculées en utilisant un modèle de coquille ionique. Les énergies trouvées dans le cas de la surface de clivage (111) sont en bon accord avec les données expérimentales dont on dispose. Dans tous les cas, les valeurs des tensions superficielles correspondent à l'existence de contraintes de compression en surface.
