The principal of the measurement of the radial current distribution in a Tokamak plasma, using a lithium beam, is analyzed. The various parts of the diagnostic and their major characteristics are described. Tests obtained in a low density target plasma are reported. Finally experimental results obtained for a Tokamak are given.
