Atomic beam probe is a new diagnostic method for detection of ions coming from the ionized part of diagnostic neutral beams in tokamaks. The method allows to measure plasma density fluctuations and fast variations in the poloidal magnetic field. Therefore, one can follow fast changes in the edge plasma current.
