The D (d, n)3He reaction has been studied at 28 MeV with the synchrocyclotron of the Institute of Nuclear Physics at Lyon by a time of flight method using the natural pulsation of the beam. The energy resolution (3 MeV) is enough to allow the séparation between monoenergetic and break-up neutrons. The angular distribution is compared with the stripping theory of Owen and Madansky and gives an interaction radius of 4.5 fermi.
