The main mechanisms giving rise to the line width and the relaxation of the magnetization associated with ferromagnetic resonance are discussed. The theoretical estimates are compared experiments in yttrium iron garnet where at low temperatures : 1) the line width seems to be controlled by crystal imperfection and 2) the longitudinal relaxation arises from intrinsic dipolar scattering involving three magnons.
