The supplementation with rumen protected conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) has demonstrated to change milk composition and also milk fatty acid profile. However, few studies have fed this supplement in a rumen unprotected form. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of a rumen unprotected CLA supplement (29.8% of cis-9, trans-11 CLA and 29.9% of trans-10, cis-12 CLA) on productive parameters, milk fatty acid profile and energy balance of lactating goats.
