The goal of this Master´s thesis is to provide an objective, independent and critical assessment of the extensive process of financial and project planning of the R&D department of GE Aviation Czech using the concept of operational due diligence. This concept is applied to a selected area of the business to reveal and identify the risks and shortcomings of the area, including the processes that are in progress within the area. Based on the knowledge and information thus obtained, this concept provides a list of risk areas and, through the audit of business operations, sets out methods and solutions to improve and streamline the area under consideration.
