Integration of foreigners in the Czech Republic

How successful is the government of the Czech Republic at supporting social integration of foreigners? What is the immigrant integration policy in the Czech Republic? The aim of this theses is to overview and analyse the immigrant integration in the Czech Republic. The concept of immigrant integration is crucial to the process of immigrant integration, therefore I focus on it and analyse it in detail. In the past few years, there has been a clear shift of immigrant policy from multiculturalism to cultural competence. In the empirical part, I analyse obstacles of immigrant integration in the Czech Republic. In order to analyse obstacles, I use qualitative research method based on semi-structured interviews. The results show that significant obstacles as perceived by foreigners is excessive bureaucracy which is related to the process of applying for work permission and visa.Jak se daří České republice integrovat cizince do společnosti? Jaká je v této oblasti vládní politika? Tato práce si bere za úkol zmapování a analýzu integrace cizinců v České republice. Koncepce integrace cizinců je klíčovým dokumentem v integračním procesu, právě na něj se zaměřím a podrobně ho rozeberu. Velice dobře je vidět přechod od multikulturalismu k občanské integraci. V praktické části analyzuji bariéry integrace cizinců v České republice. Pro tento účel využiji kvalitativního výzkumu založeného na polostrukturovaném rozhovoru. Jako významná bariéra byla cizinci označena nadměrná byrokracie spjatá s procesem žádosti o povolení k pobytu, resp. povolení k práci
