Age and Gender Peculiarities of Emotional Intelligence and Its Structural Components

The paper presents the data on gender and age differences of the basic and structural components of emotional intelligence (EQ). The research innovation includes a combination of questionnaires and experimental techniques. It reveals the geterochronological tendency of interpersonal and personal emotional intelligence in the three age groups: teenagers, students and young specialists. The main gender differences between the interpersonal and personal EQ subscales were defined in the students group. In the teenagers and adults groups such differences were statistically weak. The new data on gender differences and age dynamics were found in identifying emotions through facial expressions. The independence of EQ basic components, such as the accuracy of recognizing facial expressions and emotional verbalization, was found.В статье представлены данные о половозрастных различиях базовых и структурных компонентов эмоционального интеллекта. Новизна исследовательского подхода заключается в сочетании опросных и экспериментальных методик. Это позволило выявить в трех возрастных группах (подростки, студенты и молодые специалисты) гетерохронность показателей межличностного и внутриличностного эмоционального интеллекта. Наиболее существенные гендерные различия межличностного и внутриличностного эмоционального интеллекта обнаружены в выборке студентов. В выборках подростков и молодых специалистов эти различия статистически менее выражены
