Contemporary liberals and communitarians--Walzer, Taylor, Kymlicka, Young, Parekh, Carens and others--have, each in their own ways, challenged the traditional liberal framework of individual rights and sought to extend this framework to accommodate cultural and disadvantaged minorities.
