"In 1949, sociology existed already a period of fifty years in China. However, when the New China was founded in October 1949, the Chinese government and the Chinese Communist Party abolished sociology. This paper describes the conditions of sociology at the time the New China was established. In other words, it describes how the curriculum of the department of sociology at the universities was changed, the reasons why sociology was abolished, and how the sociologists reacted the new policy. In this way, the relationship between the politics and the science in China was clarified."sociologyChinasociologisthistorysocialis
