TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP MENGENAI PAP SMEAR SEBAGAI SKRINING KANKER SERVIKS DI KELURAHAN KAMONJI

ABSTRACT Background: One of the malignancy that affects many women is cervical cancer. These cancers have screening for early detection (pap smear). The purpose of this screening to see abnormalities in the cervix. The earlier the disorder is detected, the lower the risk of someone suffering from cervical cancer. The purpose of this study to determine the level of knowledge and attitudes of women about pap smear in the Village Kamonji. Methods: Descriptive study with a survey approach. samples came from women aged 21-60 years who had been married in the village Kamonji. Proportional sampling with cluster Random Sampling technique. The data was collected using a questionnaire. Results: Of the 97 respondents, mostly in the age range 35-47 years, while the highest level of education is high school with a distribution job ever was as a wiraswasta. The results of this study indicate the level of knowledge of women aged 21-60 years about pap smears, including Good (57.73%) and being supportive of the pap smear as much as 84.54% of all respondents in the Village Kamonji. Conclusion: The knowledge level of women in the village Kamonji includes good categories and have a positive attitude or support about examinations early detection of cervical cancer (pap smear).
