Libraries have started to digitize their paper documents and this brings new needs of describing these digital documents. The aim of the presentation was to introduce the most used metadata standards for digitization in libraries - for bibliographic, structural, administrative and technical metadata - and their practical use in library projects in the Czech Republic and in the world
