Wydział FizykiNiezwykle istotny w terapii genowej jest system dostarczania kwasu nukleinowego (tzw. wektor), który ma zwiększyć wydajność transportu nowego DNA do komórek i chronić materiał genetyczny przed uszkodzeniem. Obiecującą alternatywą dla obecnie stosowanych wektorów wirusowych wydają się być systemy oparte na związkach amfifilowych. Wśród nich dobrymi kandydatami są surfaktanty gemini (składające się z dwóch hydrofobowych łańcuchów i dwóch kationowych głów powiązanych przez grupę łącznikową).
