Masonry arches are vulnerable to seismic actions. Over the last few years, extensive research has been carried out to develop strategies and methods for their strengthening. However, from such studies, it became evident that the application of reinforcement in a masonry arch is done in such a manner that the failure of the system is transformed directly from one of stability to strength.
