Organizational well-being has been widely studied in the academic debate, while little attention has been paid to the specific health sector. Aiming at filling this gap, this study systematizes the aspects affecting employee well-being in the healthcare context and provides an updated state-of-the-art on the literature debating on this issue. In doing so, it provides both academic and practical implications for managerial action in the healthcare context. Also, the study represents a useful starting point for practical interventions to improve workers' motivation and well-being.
