This paper highlights the representation of war in Euripides’tragedies; these works were performed in Greece in the period between 430-406 B.C., during the War of Peloponnesus. Among the tragedies is particularly discussed the Trojan Women (415 B.C.): this play shows the sufferings and the terrible fate of the captive Trojan women. Euripides reveals how foolish war can be and how useless the victory, sending to the audience a strong message against the war. In the last section of this work is presented a recent experience in the U.S.A., where different projects based on the lecture and discussion of ancient drama are used in the treatment of the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
