Juan Ramón Masoliver Martínez de Oria (Zaragoza 1910-Barcelona 1997) has been a major yet unknown actor in the cultural relationships between Spain and Italy in the 20th century. For him, Italy was a crucial experience. He approached and he learned the Italian culture in a very peculiar way providing interesting ideas about the job of the writer, the translator and the cultural mediator, leaving an historical piece of reference for the comprehension of the complex strategies of international exchange, which occurred in the complex era of Fascism.
