Einleitung: Die Implementierung des Neugeborenenscreenings auf konnatale Hypothyreose (CH) in den 1970er Jahren resultierte in einem frühen Beginn der Schilddrüsenhormonsubstitution bei den betroffenen Kindern und führte zu einer deutlichen Verbesserung deren körperlichen sowie geistigen Entwicklung. Dennoch bleibt die aktuell empfohlene initiale L-Thyroxin (LT4) Dosis von 10-15 μg/kg/Tag umstritten.
