The Reality of Racism

In this paper, I will explicate howgeneralizations, oversimplifications,and reductionism are the inevitableconsequences of dualistic approaches inunderstanding the complex phenomenonof racism. Such racial-dualistic frameworksare not only inadequate and ambiguous,but could be harmful on many levels. Byutilizing a comparative analysis of Marxistdialectical-monist approach and a non-Marxist dualistic approach, I will contendthe effectiveness of the former approachas being more elucidating in treating theinterwined issue of race and racism. Iwill start by providing an introduction anddefinition of race and racism by tracingtheir origins in history and commonplacediscourse. Second, I will examine twodifferent racial binary theoretical paradigmsi.e. the Superiority/Inferiority Paradigm(Eugenics theory) and the Black/WhiteParadigm. In this analysis, I will attempt tooffer a thorough critique, discuss capitalistagendas and their consequences, andsuggest alternatives to such misleadingand uninformative paradigms. I willpresent, define, and suggest the Marxistdialectical-monist approach as analternative in comprehending race andracism. Overall, my aim is to discussthe importance of embracing dialecticalmonism, instead of dualism, in improvinghuman progress and comprehensionof the phenomenon of racism, and inuncovering the limitations and destructiveconsequences of the dualistic approachesproduced by capitalism
