In the Mormon Area

This group photograph portrays a group of seventeen people including fourteen adults, one older child, and two very young children. The group is arranged in two rows with the first row kneeling and the second row standing. They appear to be posed in long grass and behind them there is a short picket fence visible at the left of the photograph. To the right of the photograph in the background there are three more people watching from a distance and a large tree. Farther in the distance there are a few more large trees and small mountains with a clear sky behind them. All of the men have on light dress shirts and most have either a long tie or a bowtie on. Three of the men have on suit jackets and one has on a vest. The two women and the young girl all appear to have on lightly colored blouses and long skirts. The young girl is holding a banner with some sort of circular symbol, the word "COLLEGE" and something else that isn't readable. She is also holding a dark hat behind the banner. The very young children are both wearing lightly colored clothes and the girl also has on a lightly colored hat. The man on the far left of the photograph in the front row is holding a camera and the man next to him is holding a book.The photograph is in good condition and doesn't show many signs of aging. A very small piece of the bottom left hand corner is cut off. The back of the photograph has handwriting in lead that identifies the title as "In the Mormon Area" and reads, "The faculty of the Bellevue summer educational Conference in which more than three hundred young people were gathered under a band of noble teachers for Religious Education and wholesome recreation.
