This upper torso and head shot features Burke dressed in a dark colored button up dress with pleats and a light colored collar fastened above the dress neck line. A broche is fastened at the collar. Burke's hair is pulled on top of her head in a bun and is held there by a hair pin visible to the right of the bun. Her head is turned and looking away from the camera. The background is faded leaving Burke the central focal point of the photograph.This photograph is in good condition. It was professionally taken and is attached to a hard cream colored cardboard mat. Along the bottom of the photograph is the developing type and name of the photographer who took the professional studio photograph: "Enamel Finish [,] Emminger and Sifrit, 228 & 230 W. Fifth Street, Cincinnati, Ohio." On the back, written in pencil, is: "605 [,] printing surface [,] 4'4 [length measurement of a box drawn] 37/8 [width measurement of a box drawn] [,] Frances Rosilla Burke [,] Toquerville, Utah [,] Presbyterian Missionary."
