This paper confronts characteristics of cultures based on orality and those based on writing in order to approach the issue of writing in languages of oral tradition, especially Qom language (Toba) writing and its instrumentalization. References will be provided concerning the effects of writing on societies that traditionally do not practice it, on the basis of data provided from different perspectives, and of our own work on the Qom (Toba) groups.Fil: Bigot, Margot.
