μ-4,4′-Bipyridine-κ2N:N′-bis[aqua(4,4′-bipyridine-κN)(l-valinato-κ2N,O)copper(II)] dinitrate dihydrate

In the title dinuclear complex, [Cu2(C5H10NO2)2(C10H8N2)3(H2O)2](NO3)2·2H2O, each of the two l-valinate anions chelates a CuII center through the amino N and carboxylate O atom, forming a five-membered ring. A 4,4′-bipyridine molecule bridges two water-coordinated Cu atoms, each of which is connected to another 4,4′-bipyridine, giving rise to a square-pyramidal coordination geometry for the CuII centers.
