Historical reasoning of students and problematized learning : conditions and difficulties from a few case studies

À partir d’outils conceptuels empruntés aux cadres théoriques croisés de l’épistémologie de l’histoire et de la problématisation, problématisés, en retravaillant le lien entre la métaphorisation et le raisonnement historique de ces élèves. Alors et à l’aune de la problématisation scientifique, nous élaborons des micro-analyses de contenus de manuels d’histoire, qui répondent à deux programmes différents : français (classe de 6e Programme 2009) sur « L'invention de l'écriture et la naissance des premiers États », et algérien: (classe de première année de l’enseignement moyen, équivalent de 6e en France, Programme 2004/2005), sur « L'invention de l'écriture et l’évolution des civilisations. Nous aboutissons à des conclusions, qui semblent fournir en même temps une explication de recherche. Ensuite à partir d’une séquence didactique (classe de première année moyenne, en Algérie) à propos de l’invention de l’écriture, nous constatons des indices d’accès à des savoirs historiques problématisés qui sont repérés dans des productions d’élèves, par le biais du passage du premier niveau d’analogies naturelles au second niveau, que nous désignons comme analogies de problème. Il s’agit de démarches de mise en rapport avec le développement des civilisations,contrôlées au regard des problématisations scientifiques, marquantainsi ce parcours de remontée de l’assertorique vers le problématiquepar l’exploration des possibles narratifs.Through conceptual tools borrowed from the crossed theoretical frameworks of the epistemology of history and problematization, our study tries to identify the conditions and difficulties of access to problematic historical knowledge, by reworking the link between metaphorization and the historical reasoning of the students. Then and in the light of the scientific problematization, we elaborate micro-analyzes about contents of history textbooks, answering to two different programs: French (class of 6th Program 2009) on « The invention of the writing and the birth of the first States », and Algerian: (first year class of the middle equivalent of 6th in France, Program 2004/2005), on « the writing and the evolution of the civilizations ». We arrive at conclusions providing at the same time a possible explanation for the absence of metaphorization in history textbooks as raised by researchers. Then from a didactic sequence (middle class, in Algeria) about the invention of writing, we find clues for access to problematic historical knowledge, identified in student productions through the passage from the first level of natural analogies to the second level, called problem analogies. These are approaches that relate to the development of civilizations, controlled in the light of scientific problematization, thus marking this journey from the assertoric to the problematic through the exploration of possible narratives
