International audienceAs political and economic interests in the high seas develop, areas of ecological interest are generated and delineated on an international scale. These areas overlap the Law of the sea and may fall under the law of nature conservation but also under sectoral laws such as fisheries law or transport law. Depending on the case, these areas are recognised as vulnerable and of major ecological interest, within the framework of conventions and by international organisations.
