The U.S. Bureau of the Census mailed maps on December 17, 1979, to each municipality in Tennessee. These maps were part of the Census Bureau\u27s annual Boundary and Annexation Survey (BAS) and offered municipalities an opportunity to update their corporate limits, as of January 1, 1980, to reflect any changes caused by annexation or detachment
