The first report was televised, airing at 3 a.m., and showed members of the LGBT community in Columbus and surrounding counties that there were people just like them who were healthy and functioning. This photograph is likely from that first show, as it was a momentous occasion for the community. The Stonewall Union was founded in 1981 as a community center for Columbus' gay community. It has since changed names to Stonewall Columbus, and still has a large presence in the local LGBT community as the host of Pride, a community center, an HIV/STI testing center, and activist organization
