The identification of the Metropolitan city of Reggio Calabria has highlighted the need to start a series of strategies that will allow the city to be competitive in the Mediterranean Sea. In this area the metropolitan city of Reggio Calabria, because of the geographic location, has a position of particular strategic interest. One of the characteristics that distinguishes metropolitan cities is the ability to set their own international relations.
