Consanguinidad y tendencias genéticas para rasgos de crecimiento del genotipo vacuno Chacuba

The aim of this study was to characterize Chacuba genotype [(♀ 5/8 Charolaise x 3/4 Cebú) (♂5/8 Charolaise x 3/4 Zebu)] growth traits according to data from the Genetics Department, Ministry of Agriculture and the Livestock Control Center from Camagüey province. Traits studied were weaning weight, female post-weaning weight at 12 and 15 months old, and weight at first breeding, as well as male final liveweight at 18 months old according to the performance test results. Statistical processing was carried out using the MTDFREMI program by Boldman et al. (1995) and the Endog Version 3.2 by Gutiérrez and Goyache (2005). Genetic trends for growth traits showed low values for weaning weight (86 g/year), female post-weaning weight at 12 months old (121 g/year) and 15 months old (116 g/year), weight at first breeding (57,6 g/year), and male final liveweight (8 g/year). The population line breeding levels also showed low values (0,58 %).Con el objetivo de caracterizar los rasgos de crecimiento del genotipo Chacuba [(♀ 5/8 Charolaise x 3/4 Cebú) (♂5/8 Charolaise x 3/4 Cebú)] en la Empresa Rescate de Sanguily en Camagüey, se utilizó la información de la entidad, de la Dirección Nacional de Genética y del Centro de Control Pecuario de Camagüey. Los rasgos analizados fueron peso al destete (PD), posdestete en las hembras para peso a los 12 meses (P12M), a los 15 meses (P15M) y peso a la incorporación (PI). Para el macho en pruebas de comportamiento se estudió el peso vivo final a los 18 meses de edad (PF). Para el procesamiento estadístico de los resultados se utilizaron el MTDFREML de Boldman et al. (1995) y Endog versión 3.2 de Gutiérrez y Goyache (2005). Las tendencias genéticas para los rasgos de crecimiento mostraron valores bajos para PD (86 g/año), P12M (121 g/año), P15M (116 g/año), PI (57,6 g/año) y PF (8 g/año). Los niveles de consanguinidad de la población son bajos (0,58 %)
