Ray Catron talks about growing up in Cameron, Missouri, where he began his trapping career at the age of seven hunting mostly civet cats and possums. He reminisces about moving to Billings, Montana, when he was 20 years old. Catron describes working on the railroad, trapping, and becoming involved in predator control in the Billings area. He talks about using his greyhound dogs for predator control to track down bears and coyotes that were threatening livestock. Catron also compares trapping methods and attitudes among trappers of the 1930s and ‘40s with those of the 1980s.https://scholarworks.umt.edu/montanafurtrappers/1013/thumbnail.jp
