Daniel Kemmis Interview, November 23, 1987

Daniel Kemmis discusses what he thinks his future role in Missoula politics and civic life will be. He recounts the difficulties of running a city council campaign, and he considers the possibility of running for mayor in the future. He describes how his schedule is less hectic than it was when he served in the Montana State Legislature, which has allowed him to pursue other interests, such as Northern Lights, catching up with friends and colleagues, and teaching at the University of Montana. Kemmis expresses discomfort with certain aspects of running a political campaign such as speaking in front of a camera and packaging, or marketing, himself. He also discusses the importance of cooperation among individuals with opposing political views, and his hopes to achieve more of that in the upcoming years.
