The objective of this study was to quantify and evaluate the losses of precipitation by interception by the vegetation in one area experimental with caatinga preserved semiarid in cearense. The experiment was performed in one experimental watershed located in the municipality of Iguatu, Ceará. The area suffers no anthropic interference for more than 20 years, presenting high level of conservation covered with vegetation of the type Caatinga of trees and shrubs. The area comprises measurement interception 10 x 10 m where 172 trees were cataloged with average diameter of 9.6 cm.
