As a result of the westward movement of Oghuzs from Central Asia, a great immigration of Turks spread to Anatolia. Turkish tribes and clans, who came to Anatolia, regarded the places they settled as their homeland and started to live there. During this period, like many places in Anatolia, Kayseri and Tomarza were Turkificated and Islamized by the Oghuz Turks. As a consequence of Turkification and Islamization, several Turkish states established in Anatolia, among which universal states of Ottomans and Seljuks are the most important.
