O objetivo geral desta pesquisa é indicar possibilidades de ensinar Matemática para alunos surdos em sala de aula do ensino regular, para tanto, realizamos uma pesquisa a partir de um trabalho sobre conteúdo de área e perímetro realizado com um aluno surdo de uma classe do 6º ano do Ensino Fundamental de uma escola pública estadual de uma cidade do interior da Paraíba. Os referenciais teóricos que fundamentaram o estudo envolveram a literatura sobre a educação dos surdos, sua inclusão em escolas regulares, o trabalho do intérprete, a visão sociocultural da aprendizagem matemática dos surdos e o direito de atendimento educacional especial.
