A hidroxiapatita (Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2) é uma biocerâmica muito utilizada em reparação óssea por ser o principal componente da fase mineral dos ossos. É composta basicamente por cálcio, fósforo e oxigênio e pode ser sintetizada por reações de estado sólido e métodos úmidos.
