This thesis’ main question is “in what way the writing of a logbook in an English class can develop a metacognitive process among students in cycle 4?” Its main goal is to understand how using this teaching material can produce a metacognitive thinking among the students. It also focuses on the notion of autonomy among these students through the using of this metacognitive aimed logbook. Thanks to the participation of a Year 10 class of English learners, the analysis of their logbooks, some interviews as well as questionnaires, it has been possible to see the effects of using this teaching material.
