O Pensamento Autoritário no Estado Novo português: algumas interpretações

This article aims to analyze the origins of the Portuguese authoritarian thought previous to the Estado Novo ascension and its contribution to this regime institutional order. We haveas hypothesis that the Portugal authoritarian formative sources are: conservative Catholicism, the militar y positivist thought and a sort of nationalist radicalism strongly influenced by fascists movements. Parte do pressuposto de que as fontes formadoras do autoritarismo em Portugal são: o conservadorismo católico, o pensamento militar de feição positivista e um tipo de radicalismo nacionalista fortemente influenciado pelos movimentos fascistas. Além disso, pretendemos perceber as tensões entre essas diversas correntes autoritárias no que concerne à relação entre tradição e modernidade durante as décadas de 1930 e 1940
