The purpose of this study is to examine how the swedish politicans Jonas Sjöstedt and Jimmie Åkesson are using history in their speeches and what similarities and differences that arise between left- and right-politicans. The empirical material for this study consists six different speaches for each politician and their use of history has been written down. This material has later been analyzed by help from Klas-Göran Karlsson's theory about how history can be used. The main results are that there are both similarities and differences in their way of using history.
