Das vorrangige Ziel dieser Arbeit bestand in der Entwicklung Mangan-basierter Elektrokatalysatoren für die alkalische Sauerstoffentwicklung (OER). Wegen ihrer geringen Leitfähigkeiten wurden die Manganoxide auf elektrisch gut leitenden und funktionalisierten mehrwandigen Kohlenstoffnanoröhren (CNT) abgeschieden. Die Untersuchung der Metall-Träger-Wechselwirkung durch stark oxidierende und reduzierende Atmosphären ergab, dass der Oxidationszustand der MnO\(_x\)-Partikel auf NCNTs im Vergleich zu OCNTs leichter zu variieren war.
