More than 2,000 megawatts of new wind power projects have been proposed for Maine. Southern New England would benefit from the clean energy and Maine residents would benefit from lowering the wholesale retail prices for electricity, however there is grassroots opposition of the projects in that they would be located in some of Maine\u27s most scenic locations. The pros and cons of different proposals and the issues are discussed. [map
