Relationship Series: an exploration of human interactions.

Artist\u27s Statement: In my comps project I hope to create a body of work that explores the relationships people share, through the relationships between vessels, the relationship I share with a piece, and the relationship between the work with the viewer. Although my concept has remained quite consistent throughout the project, my methods have changed substantially, particularly through exploration of different methods of altering the vessels. As I discovered the many possibilities at hand I began to let go of my attempts to convey a specific, identifiable emotion or relationship. Through conversations with my peers and mentors, I quickly came to realize that people have highly varying interpretations of a set, and although I initially felt discouraged when the work was not read as I intended, this ended up some of most interesting dialogue I have had regarding my comps. I began to see new possibilities for my work: ways to strengthen particular concepts as well as revisiting methods of alteration to depict a different type of relationship
