The Process of Cultural Morphogenesis : An Information-Metabolic Approach (2)

In the first volume of the series of his articles published in the previous issue, the author discussed that communication is the vehicle functioning between information and culture: it changes information into culture, and the latter into the former. These functions were named the "culturalization of information" and the "informationalization of culture," respectively. In this volume, the author illustrates the communication patterns that govern the enculturation and acculturation of the given culture -the static and the dynamic phase of culture. Pointing out the two different communication drives, the Hegemony type and the Interest type, he analyses the two prototypes of communication, repellency and attraction, into the seven basic patterns, which are: 1) Single-track opposition, 2) Single-track assimilation, 3) Single-track synergy, 4) Double-track insulation, 5) Double-track assimilation, 6) Double-track synergy, and 7) Unisonous congruence.5KJ00004282499論文Articledepartmental bulletin pape
